Most two-year-olds become obsessed with cartoons or baby dolls. Instead, KennLynn was obsessed with Julie Andrews' work in The Sound of Music. Hoping she would fall asleep to her favorite movie, KennLynn's mother turned on the tape for her to watch in bed. However, KennLynn decided to stay up, rewinding the video throughout the night just to continue watching it over and over again. By the next morning, KennLynn had all the songs memorized by heart. As she grew up, she would sing in talent shows and perform the National Anthem at sports games.
KennLynn was born in Gainesville, Florida in 1998. When she was 7 years old, her family decided to migrate north to Tennessee where her grandparents chose to retire. From 7 to 21, she lived in middle TN in a small town halfway between Nashville and Knoxville. Just after COVID struck in 2020, she decided to take a chance and move away from home. Spontaneity led her to Memphis, TN, where she kickstarted her singing career at The Song Shack in East Memphis.
From country music to EDM, KennLynn's music interests hit almost all genres. Her most-listened-to artists, however, are Carrie Underwood, Alessia Cara, Miley Cyrus, Morgan Wallen, and Luke Combs. Most of her inspiration tends to come from sounds of Carrie Underwood and Rascal Flats, while lyrics are more from personal experiences.
